The Protocol Liaison Officer (PLO) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ambassador Yakubu Musa, said he can’t afford to see the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) loosing for the February 21, chairmansip election in the FCT to an opposition party especially in Kuje Area Council, his home town.

 

Musa, who is also an APC stakeholder in FCT stated this on Friday, during an expanded meeting of the party’s stakeholders, which had in attendance former senator who represented the FCT Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, chairman of the APC in FCT Alhaji Usman Abdulmalik held at Kuje town hall.

 

He said APC is the ruling party both at the national down to the area council levels, saying every stakeholders must come together in order to ensure the party emerged victorious at the polls.

 

“As an indigene of Kuje area council and APC stakeholder in the FCT, Kuje area is very dear to me, hence we can’t afford to loose the forthcoming chairmanship election to the opposition party,”he said.

 

He said since the APC has filed a good chairmanship candidate that has the capacity to deliver, saying every stakeholder would mobilized across nook and cranny of the council in order to ensure APC emerge victorious at the polls.

 

Also speaking, former senator who represented the FCT, Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, said he was impressed that all the APC stakeholders has come together and unanimously resolved to work for the victory of both the chairmanship and councilorship candidates during the February 21, 2026 election in Kuje area council.

 

He noted that the coming together of nine chairmanship aspirants to unanimously stepped down for the one aspirant that later emerged as APC chairmanship candidate wss a clear evidence that APC will triumph at the polls.

 

The state chairman of the APC in the FCT, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, who was also present at the party’s stakeholders meeting, commended other aspirants of the party for keeping their interest aside and endorsed the one among them to become chairmanship flag bearer of the party in Kuje area council.

 

He also said that the coming together of the former chairmen and ward chairmen as well as party’s supporters across the ten wards of the council, the APC will witness a landslide victory at the polls.

 

On his part, the APC chairmanship candidate in Kuje area council, Hon Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, said he was delighted for the massive support from both APC stakeholders and supporters as well as former council chairmen for declaring to ensure he will emerge victorious during the February 21, 2026 polls in the council.

 

He said he was also elated that all the party’s leaders including the Tinubu’s aide was also present to openly declare his support for him, saying such endorsement was a clear evidence of victory at the polls.

 

Shekwolo, therefore, pledged to address the challenges especially socio- economic, health, security, girl -child education, which he said has been the major challenges facing people of the council if given the mandate come February 21, 2026 election.

 

The APC chairmanship candidate also promised that his administration will focus on food security and agricultural development, infrastructure and environmental development as well as community engagement.
