Kogi West senator urges peace and prayers for Nigeria at Christmas

Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West in the National Assembly, has extended Christmas greetings to Christians in his district, emphasising peaceful coexistence amid national challenges.
In a statement issued to journalists, Mr Karimi rejoiced with residents of Kogi West and Nigerians more broadly over the celebration marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
He called on citizens to pray for leaders at all levels and for the peace, progress and socio-economic development of the country.
“Peaceful coexistence between and among Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic or religious leanings, is key,” the senator said, urging people to draw lessons of love, forgiveness and harmony from the Christmas season.

Mr Karimi highlighted the enduring legacy of Jesus Christ, who “sacrificed his life for the redemption of our souls”, as a source of inspiration for all Nigerians regardless of faith.
He wished Christians divine guidance and blessings during the festivities, and congratulated them on witnessing another Christmas in good health and prosperity.
The senator also rallied support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and governments nationwide, adding: “We have no other country or state to call our home.
Praying for and working with our leaders remains the panacea to overcoming our challenges.”Mr Karimi assured Kogi West residents that insecurity plaguing the area and Nigeria would soon end, vowing to use legislation to drive development in his district and the country.
