Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has urged Christians and all Nigerians to embrace love, peace, unity, and alms giving for national development.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, Thursday, said Dr Jatau made the call during a Christmas service at ECWA Good News Church, Garaku, in Kokona Local Government Area, where he donated 1,000 United States dollars (about N1.460 million) towards the church’s infrastructure development.
“Christmas is a period for us to show ourselves love, affection and give to the needy in the society. Let’s share with others, especially the less privileged ones with what we have,” the Speaker said.”
This will not only give them a sense of belonging but would also improve their standard of living.
“He described Christmas as a time of gratitude, prayer, faith renewal, and celebrating love, adding: “What I am doing, I am doing it for the sake of God as my reward will come from Heaven.”
Dr Jatau also rallied support for Governor Abdullahi Sule, noting his passion for development in Kokona LGA and the state.
“His Excellency, Engr. A.A. Sule has done a lot… Let’s all continue to support him to succeed and enable our people to enjoy more dividends of democracy.”
The Speaker urged residents to live in unity and tolerance, regardless of affiliations, stressing that no nation achieves speedy development without peace.
He called on religious leaders to pray for divine guidance for leaders at all levels.
Earlier, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, the church’s reverend-in-charge, preaching from John 3:16, urged Christians to love one another, give to the needy, forgive, and shun sin to inherit God’s kingdom.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,” Rev Kaya quoted, adding: “As Christ loves us, we should also love one another.
This is the season of giving… give to the needy in order to get reward from God.
“The cleric prayed for the Speaker, his family, leaders, and all Nigerians.
