Hon. Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, has expressed profound gratitude to the Lagbeita community in Chikara North, Kogi Local Government Area.

The community bestowed upon him the prestigious chieftaincy title of Wambai of Lagbeita during a vibrant cultural festival. This honour, Barr. Tanko noted, will significantly strengthen unity between the Egbira and Gbagy nations.

The event unfolded on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Lagbeita Community Cultural Festival Day and Turbaning of Council Chiefs.

Barr. Tanko, who once chaired the Kogi Local Government Council as Chief Administrator from 2016 to 2019, reflected warmly on his longstanding ties with the Lagbeita people. He credited these deep-rooted relationships and friendships for the community’s decision to honor him.

In heartfelt appreciation, Barr. Tanko singled out His Royal Highness Haggai Kaka Tanyizhin, the SA-Lagbeta/Gabayakwo of Lagbeita in Chikara area. The royal figure deemed him worthy to join the chiefdom, a gesture that deeply moved the civil service boss.

Upon receiving news of the conferment notice, Barr. Tanko immediately shared it with his father and the Ohimegye Igu of Koton-Karfe Kingdom, Dr. Saidu Salihu Akawu. Ohimegye Akawu offered prayers for his success and safe return from the ceremony.

“I didn’t waste time informing my father, HRM. Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, Ohimegye Igu of Koton-Karfe,” Barr. Tanko recounted to the gathering.

The Ohimegye not only blessed him but also sent high chiefs to represent the kingdom at the event. These delegation and dignitaries attended in large numbers, underscoring the occasion’s importance.

Speaking for all recipients, Barr. Tanko affirmed that the new titles would motivate them to achieve even greater feats. They pledged support to the Lagbeita community, promising assistance in cash and kind.

“We shall always stand by this community and will never let Lagbeita down,” he assured the cheering crowd.

The ceremony drew dignitaries from afar, including the Kuje Area Council APC Chairmanship candidate for next year’s elections, as well as guests from Toto and the FCT, adding splendor to the festivities.

Barr. Tanko arrived with a strong entourage, including Alhaji Abubakar Katamba, the Director of Appointment, Recruitment, and Promotion at the Civil Service Commission. Also present were former Kogi LGC Secretary Babaji Muhammed, family members, youths from Osuku, Koton-karfe, Lokoja and his dedicated support group.
