Bida Sabo erupts in celebration as zone F wins Amb. Alewa unity football cup

The tranquil town of Bida Sabo in Nasarawa Local Government Area was turned upside down on Sunday as Zone F emerged victorious in the Amb. Alewa Unity Football Cup competition 2025.
The atmosphere was electric as fans from across the region converged on the venue to witness the thrilling final match between Zone F (Uke) and Zone D (Gadabuke).
In a nail-biting finish, the two teams ended the game in a draw, leading to a penalty shootout that saw Zone F emerging triumphant.
The crowd went wild as the winning team was announced, with supporters donning matching jerseys and wending their way through the stands, singing and dancing in jubilation.
Dignitaries from far and wide attended the event, including Amb. Dr. Alewa Akawu Nasiru, the sponsor of the tournament, who emphasized the importance of football in uniting people.
“Football is a vital tool for bringing people together, and I’m thrilled to see the impact it’s had on our community,” he said.
Mohammed Abdullahi, National President of Gade Students Association, described the tournament as a first-of-its-kind in Gade land and pledged continued support for such initiatives.

Abubakar Akawu, District of Takalafiya, commended Amb. Nasiru for bringing people together through sports, praying God to reward him abundantly, and urging others to emulate him.
The winning team, Zone F, received a cash prize, medals, and awards for best player, goalkeeper, and scorer, among others.
