Kogi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, has donated a brand new 18-seater bus to the Isanlu wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), a gesture aimed at bolstering the group’s evangelical outreach in Yagba East Local Government Area and beyond.

The presentation ceremony, held in Isanlu, the headquarters of Yagba East LGA, saw the commissioner represented by former council chairman, Abdulrahzak Asiru Ijagbemi, who handed over the keys amid cheers from clergy and faithful

In his address, Ijagbemi explained that the bus would ease mobility for CAN leaders, enabling them to spread the gospel of Christ effectively within the community and far beyond its borders.

He called on CAN and other faith-based groups to redouble their prayers for divine success in the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose leadership continues to shape Nigeria’s development trajectory.

The commissioner further implored religious leaders to champion advocacy for peace, love, and harmonious communal living, especially as the Okun nation grapples with a turbulent phase of insecurity.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Isanlu CAN wing, Chairman, Reverend Segun Towobola expressed profound gratitude, invoking God’s boundless favour upon Asiwaju Ashiru Idris for his unwavering support.

Reverend Towobola hailed the commissioner’s contributions to fostering religious harmony in Kogi State, describing the donation as a timely boost to the church’s mission in challenging times.
