Nasarawa ADC Condoles Aren Eggon, Akwashiki Family Over Sen. Godiya’s Death, Carnival Crash Victims

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has extended heartfelt condolences to the Aren Eggon, His Royal Highness Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku I, and the family of Akwashiki over Senator Godiya Akwashiki sudden death as well as the tragic loss of young Eggon indigenes in a horrific truck accident during the recent Eggon Carnival.
The commiseration came amid widespread mourning across Nasarawa State, where the twin tragedies have cast a shadow over the Eggon community and the political landscape.
In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday, Comr. Idris Ojoko, the ADC State Publicity Secretary, detailed how a high-powered delegation from the party visited the Aren Eggon at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the team also separately condoled with the Akwashiki family in Lafia, the state capital, underscoring the party’s solidarity in times of grief.
Leading the delegation was ADC State Coordinator Chief John Michael Abdul, alongside Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo Nasarawa South and Deputy National Chairman Senator Patricia Akwashiki, who is related to the late senator.
The visitors expressed profound grief, describing the losses as “painful blows not just to the Eggon Nation, but to Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.”
Chief Abdul led prayers for the repose of the souls of the departed, invoking divine strength for the bereaved families, the Aren Eggon, and the entire Eggon Nation to bear these “irreparable losses.”
“May the souls of late Senator Godiya Akwashiki and the departed youths rest in perfect peace.”
In response, the Aren Eggon expressed gratitude for the ADC’s solidarity visit, hailing the late Senator Akwashiki as “a great son of Eggon land whose contributions to Nasarawa and Nigeria will be eternally remembered.”
Other delegation members included ADC Coalition State Secretary Mallam Jibril Sabo Keana (JSK), Barr. John Mathew, Jonathan Shuki, Mr. Nathaniel Aboki, Comr. Idris Ojoko, Mr. Gaza Mark Auta, Hon. Godwin Soji, Hon. Dogara Egye Ahmed, Mallam Sarki, and other party stakeholders.
