…..’Otti best Abia gov ever’ – Ex-critic Doris Ogala

By Yahaya Idris

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, has turned full circle, hailing Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, as the best governor the state has ever produced.

The endorsement is all the more remarkable coming from Ogala, a one-time vocal critic who openly backed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu against Otti’s leadership. But after a recent visit to Abia, where she saw the governor’s developmental strides up close, the actress made a stunning U-turn.

“His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, is the best governor ever produced by Abia State,” she declared publicly, in what Labour party chieftain Oluchi Oparah described as a “confessional acknowledgment shaped by direct experience.”

Oparah, former National Treasurer of the Labour Party, in a statement made available, January 19, 2026, said Ogala’s praise underscores the power of Otti’s people-centered governance, forcing even past detractors to sing his praises in 2026.

“Nigerians are not blind. Long before her endorsement, Abians already knew. Governor Otti’s outstanding performance did not begin with her commendation, nor does it depend on it,” Oparah stated.

She highlighted how Otti’s achievements have won admirers beyond Abia, with indigenes of other states openly wishing he were their governor, a rare testimony earned through visible progress, not manufactured hype.

“To many Nigerians, Governor Otti is not only the best Abia has ever had, but the best-performing governor in Nigeria today,” Oparah added, urging citizens to prioritize the voices of ordinary people over celebrity opinions.

The labour party leader warned against compromised narratives from public figures, insisting the true story of Abia’s transformation comes from Abians living its realities daily.
