Progress Lies in Realistic Ideas, Sule Tells NCCE at Key Workshop

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has charged delegates at a 5-day workshop on the review of the 2020 edition of NCE Minimum Standards to come up with implementable and realistic resolutions.

He gave the charge during the event, organized by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), brought together participants from across colleges of education in Nigeria, held at college of education Akwanga.

Governor Sule, reminiscing on the college’s history, noted that Nasarawa State College of Education Akwanga is the oldest higher institution in the state, predating the state itself and pledged continued government support for the college’s success.

The Governor highlighted changes made since 2019, when he came on board as Governor, addressing challenges faced by the college.

Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, commended NCCE for organizing the workshop, affirming the federal government’s commitment to promoting college standards nationwide.

Prof. Ahmad praised Governor Sule’s support for the college, including infrastructure development.

Dr. Barau Nuhu Barnabas, Provost of College of Education Akwanga, acknowledged the state government’s support, announcing plans to celebrate the college’s 50th anniversary and seeking continued backing.

The opening ceremony featured the presentation of award to Governor Abdullahi Sule among other activities.
