Nasarawa Govt Captures Bassa Road in 2026 Budget, Says Speaker as Kokona LG Stakeholders Endorse Him for Reps in 2027

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has disclosed that the state government has included the construction of Bassa Road in the 2026 budget.
Dr. Jatau, who represents Kokona West Constituency, gave the assurance when stakeholders from Bassa District in Kokona Local Government Area visited him in his Lafia office on Monday.
According to a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Nasarawa Govt Captures Bassa Road in 2026 Budget, Says Speaker as Kokona LG Stakeholders Endorse Him for Reps in 2027 Gwamna, Speaker Jatau expressed confidence that Governor Abdullahi Sule would deliver on the project before the end of his tenure in 2027.

“By God’s grace, Bassa Road will be constructed by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule,” the Speaker said.”
The Governor has always promised that Bassa Road will be constructed before his tenure expires, and as a man of his word, he will do it. I want to assure you that by God’s grace, Bassa Road will be constructed.”
According to the Speaker, the road project would boost agriculture, generate revenue and enhance socio-economic activities in the area.
Dr. Jatau, who appreciated the stakeholders for urging him to contest the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives come 2027, pledged mor3 development if elected.
“From today, 26th January, 2026, I have answered the call to contest for the seat of Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency come 2027,” he declared.”

“The Speaker highlighted his achievements in project execution, employment, empowerment and appointments, while commending the people for their unity and peaceful coexistence across ethnic lines, including Eggon, Mada, Hausa/Fulani, Tiv and Gwandara.” I also want to appreciate the inter-marriages existing between us… Let’s continue to live in unity and peace with one another irrespective of our affiliations,” he added.
Earlier, leader of the delegation, Mr. Shuaibu Salihu Salau, said the visit was to commend the Speaker’s performance in employment, infrastructure and other areas.
“We sat and held a meeting and we said during the meeting that you have done well in employment and other aspects of humanity. You built a police outpost in Bassa, primary schools, classrooms in GSS Bassa among other infrastructure,” Mr. Salau stated.
He announced the endorsement of Dr. Jatau for the House of Representatives seat, assuring mobilization of support from Kokona and other local government areas.
The delegation also appreciated the Speaker for printing 2,000 T-shirts, caps and banners for his campaign from their contributions.
Mr. Salau, however, appealed for the construction of Bassa Road, more employment opportunities, empowerment programmes and projects.
