Nasarawa Assembly opens Ramadan Tafsir as Speaker, Cleric task believers on support for less privileged. alms giving, other obligations.
Muslim community of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commenced this year’s Ramadan Tafsir to encourage believers strengthen the faith in act of worship.
The 2026 Ramadan Tafsir of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly was opened today Monday at the State Assembly Mosque.
Speaking at the opening session, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Dr. Danladi Jatau called on Muslim community to use the month of Ramadan to alleviate sufferings of the vulnerable in the society through amls giving.
The Speaker who gave the advice while declaring open this year’s Ramadan Tafsir of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly spoke extensively on the significance of the holy month.
It would be recalled that it has been a tradition among Muslim community of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to stage Quranic Recitation and Commentary known as Tafsir during the month of Ramadan.
This, is to remind believers of the tenets of the religion obligation which was aimed at strengthening their spiritual well-being with the view of obtaining the blessings associated with the fasting period.

Dr Jatau who declared the annual event open, reminder Muslim community that their fasting and prayer will be more meaningful if they accomplish it with alms giving as instructed by Prophet Mohammed.
Represented by the Director of Ligislative, Alh. Yusuf Kasim the Speaker said the society is engulfed with daunting challenges thus, making people vulnerable both financially and otherwise.
This, he said it will not be out of place to assist such individuals during this month of Ramadan to give them a sense of belonging.
In the Quranic commentary, an Islamic Cleric Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki reminded Muslim community on the need to be just, fair and transparent in all their affairs.
He said given the rate of impunity in the society, those who adhere strictly to their faith, doing the needful in the society especially those who wither the storm of corruption on earth all will certainly be rewarded in the hereafter accordingly and in accordance with their deeds.
On the need to fast during the month of Ramadan, the Cleric said the spiritual exercise should not be regarded as coercive means of worshipping God but a moment to obtain God’s grace and mercy by doing good deeds.
Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki while warning Muslims against associating God with any deity, or share partner, urged them to sustain the lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadan for God’s blessings and the betterment of the society.
On his part, the Staff Officer of the House Danladi Suleiman Gyabo appreciated the Speaker, the Scholar and staff for being part spiritual exercise praying God to reward them just as he enjoined Muslims to always attend the Tafsir daily.
