Nasarawa’s Sole Female Lawmaker, Dr. Danyaro, Doles Out Millions in Ramadan, Sallah Palliatives to Constituents
In a heartwarming display of commitment to her people’s welfare, the Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, Nasarawa State’s only female legislator, has distributed an impressive array of items worth millions of naira to her constituents ahead of Ramadan and Sallah celebrations.
The empowerment programme, dubbed “Ramadan and Sallah Palliatives,” saw the distribution of 700 bags of 7.5kg rice, 300 wrappers for women, 170 pieces of clothing materials including Buban Riga, Agbada, and Sheda for traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, 20 bags of millet, and even a car, all handed out at the Nasarawa Local Government Secretariat.
Dr. Danyaro explained that this gesture, marking her tenth such distribution since assuming office, aims to bring smiles to faces and elevate living standards before, during, and after the holy month, urging beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them as intended while assuring continued quality representation and dividends of democracy.
Dr. Danyaro, who emphasized her unwavering dedication to positively transforming lives in Nasarawa Central, called on constituents to sustain prayers and support for her, Governor Abdullahi Sule, and other leaders, while promoting unity, love, and peace regardless of affiliations.
She expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Tijani Aliyu Ahmed, Federal Commissioner/CEO of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), who not only chaired the event but passed a resounding vote of confidence in her leadership, donated N1 million to bolster the programme, and called for her re-election beyond 2027, praising her people-centered approach as a model for improving livelihoods during Ramadan.
The event drew glowing goodwill messages from an array of dignitaries, including Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, the Emir of Nasarawa (represented by Wambai Nasarawa); Dr. Aliyu Bello, APC Chairman, Nasarawa State (represented by Mr. Isaiah Agah, APC Zonal Chairman, Nasarawa West); Hon. Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, Executive Chairman of Nasarawa LGA (represented by Deputy Hon. Sabo Eduwa); Hon. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, Executive Chairman of Karu LGA (represented by DPM Mr. Ahmed Ede); Rt. Hon. Danjuma Odumu, Speaker of Nasarawa LGA Legislative Council; Mrs. Safiya Aliyu, former APC Women Leader, Nasarawa Central Ward; and Hajiya Halima Ojoko, APC chieftain, among others.
They all lauded Dr. Danyaro’s initiatives for uplifting constituents and rallied the people to back her success past 2027.
Adding a spiritual dimension, the Chief Imam of Makama Dogo Mosque, Nasarawa LGA, Utaz Umar Abdullahi Bala, reminded attendees that Ramadan is a season of almsgiving and compassion, where aiding the less privileged earns divine rewards, and urged wealthy individuals to follow suit in enhancing living standards. Beneficiaries, led by Mr. Mohammed Sani Suleiman, expressed deep appreciation, assuring Dr. Danyaro of their unwavering loyalty, prayers for abundant blessings, and steadfast support to propel her victories beyond 2027.
