2027: Anyu’Abga Throws Hat in Ring for Eggon West State Constituency Seat, Pledges Seamless Succession to Akwashiki’s Footsteps

A frontline House of Assembly aspirant for Nasarawa Eggon West constituency, under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon Solomon Jonathan Anyu’Abga, has formally announced his candidacy for the position.

He made his intention known during a visit to the seven electoral wards that make up Nasarawa Eggon West State constituency, where he met with ward officials of the SDP, elders, youths, and women.

Hon Anyu’Abga stated that his decision to contest was built on widespread calls from different groups and extensive consultations, maintaining that he has joined the SDP to become the lawmaker with the primary responsibility of making laws that will bring development to the state.

The young politician tagged his political journey as “Youth O’Clock”, emphasizing that it’s time for young people to take over leadership roles, and that age is not a limitation, but rather the capacity to deliver and involve people in development affairs.

Hon Anyu’Abga, accompanied by his team, visited electoral wards including Eka-Wangibi, Iga-Burumburu, Mada Station, and Arikpa Lambaga among others where he was cheered by supporters who assured him of their total support.

The SDP officials and supporters reflected on the legacy of late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, stating that Hon Anyu’Abga is poised to fill the gap left by the late senator.

Addressing SDP members, Hon Anyu’Abga promised to build on Akwashiki’s legacy and solicited support from all, regardless of party affiliations.

 

He expressed his desire to contribute to the development of Nasarawa Eggon West constituency and Nasarawa State, urging supporters to avoid divisive rhetoric.

Hon Anyu’Abga is confident that the old system of politics is giving way to young, vibrant leaders who will bring innovation and lobby for projects in the constituency
