APC Grassroots Group Rejects Arewa Youths’ Call for Sack of Defence Minister Musa, Hails His Performance
The leadership of the APC Grassroots Mobilization Platform for Good Governance for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima 2027 has strongly rejected a media report and viral video in which some Arewa youths called on President Bola Tinubu to dismiss the Minister of Defence, General Christopher G. Musa, describing the position as unrepresentative of the views held by the majority of patriotic Nigerians who deeply appreciate the sacrifices being made by the nation’s Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence under his watch.
In an official press statement signed by its National Coordinator, Elder Comr. Osumiri Paul Efe, the group emphasized that General Musa’s appointment remains a strategic masterstroke by President Tinubu, leveraging the minister’s decades of distinguished military experience to confront Nigeria’s evolving security threats head-on, with notable progress already evident through coordinated operations in various conflict zones, enhanced collaboration among security agencies, and a significant boost in the morale of the armed forces personnel who continue to serve selflessly despite the immense challenges they face daily.
As an organization boasting nationwide leadership and deep roots at the grassroots level, the APC Grassroots Mobilization Platform disclosed that it has received no complaints whatsoever regarding the Minister of Defence’s performance from its extensive network across the country, adding that many Nigerians have instead continued to praise the military’s resilience and unwavering commitment to restoring peace amid persistent security hurdles.

The group cautioned against what it described as deliberate false narratives being peddled by supporters of criminal networks or political opponents opposed to the ongoing anti-insurgency operations, which they suspect are the real motives behind the Arewa youths’ ill-advised call for the minister’s sack, urging all well-meaning Nigerians to see through such distractions designed to weaken the nation’s security institutions at a critical time.
In a passionate call for national unity, the platform stressed that Nigeria requires unwavering unity, patience, and robust support for its security agencies rather than divisive actions that only embolden criminals and undermine the Renewed Hope Agenda, imploring President Tinubu to sustain his backing for Minister Musa while providing the necessary institutional resources to accelerate gains in the fight against insecurity.
The group also rallied patriotic citizens to rally behind the government’s determined efforts to secure lasting peace and stability across the federation, declaring that the Renewed Hope Agenda 2027 remains sacrosanct and non-negotiable.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
