Governor Sule Felicitates with Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr, Charges Citizens to Sustain Ramadan Virtues
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslim faithful across the state and the world at large as they celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr, marking the joyous conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of profound spiritual renewal and communal solidarity that underscores the enduring tenets of Islam in fostering discipline and compassion among believers everywhere.
In a goodwill message issued on Monday, Governor Sule reflected on the successful completion by Muslims worldwide of 30 days of fasting, a sacred obligation rooted in the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and recognized as one of the five pillars of Islam, during which adherents abstain from food, drink, and worldly desires from dawn until dusk, all in a deliberate act of devotion designed to fortify their spiritual lives, deepen obedience to Allah, and cultivate inner strength amid life’s daily trials.
The governor portrayed Ramadan not merely as a season of fasting but as a transformative epoch brimming with intense prayers, diligent recitation of the Holy Qur’an, boundless acts of kindness, generous charity, and profound humility, expressing optimism that residents had harnessed this blessed time to instill greater discipline, empathy, self-control, and generosity in their personal conduct and interactions, virtues that promise to enrich individual lives and strengthen the social fabric of Nasarawa State.Urging all to extend the luminous lessons of Ramadan far beyond the festive Sallah period, Governor Sule emphasized the imperative of embedding the spirit of sharing, exemplary neighbourliness, and warm hospitality into everyday living as a perpetual way of life, declaring, “We must remain steadfast in sustaining the good deeds which we imbibed during Ramadan by applying the virtues in all our endeavours,” a clarion call for sustained moral excellence in public and private spheres alike.

Governor Sule also appealed for mutual respect among residents for one another’s beliefs and values, affirming that unity in diversity stands as the cornerstone for enduring peace and robust economic advancement in Nasarawa, which he described as a miniature society welcoming all irrespective of tribe, religion, or region, where every citizen enjoys the liberty to pursue lawful businesses without any apprehension of harassment or discrimination.
On a note of caution amid the celebrations, the governor admonished motorists and road users to scrupulously adhere to traffic regulations during the Eid festivities, while charging officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and other security outfits to intensify enforcement of traffic and security protocols throughout the period and beyond, ensuring safe travels and heightened vigilance for all.
