2027: Nasarawa APC Gov’ship aspirant Maikaya hails Sule’s transformational leadership, Unveils plans for State
An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, has poured encomiums on Governor Abdullahi Sule’s over six years of eventful and rewarding administration, describing it as a model of transformational drive and all-inclusive leadership that has positioned the state as a committee of leading states across Nigeria.

Speaking at his residence in Toto Local Government Area of the state today, Friday, during interactions with newsmen amid the ongoing Sallah celebrations, the Chief Executive Officer of the Maikaya Development Foundation and holder of the traditional title of Chiroman Toto, rallied robust support for the governor to consolidate his gains, while outlining his own vision to build on this foundation if elected governor in 2027.
Dr. Maikaya, who contested against Governor Sule in the 2019 APC primaries, was candid in his assessment, declaring, “I contest with Gov. Sule in 2019, and to be frank to you, Gov. Sule did what I intended to do as an aspirant in 2019.”

He expressed delight at the governor’s interventions across all sectors of the economy, noting that Sule has done very well in transforming Nasarawa State, and emphasised the need for a consolidator to take the state further.
“Am happy with him, he has made Nasarawa into committee of States, he has intervene across all sectors of the economy, Sule deed very well, we need someone to consolidate, and I fit that cap,” the aspirant stated, positioning himself as the ideal candidate to sustain and expand these achievements without bitterness from past rivalries.
Highlighting his own credentials independent of government patronage, Dr. Maikaya stressed that he holds no public office and has never executed any government contract, yet his commitment to the people predates his political ambition by two decades through the Maikaya Foundation.
“I did not wait till when I want to contest for position before I come down to the people, no, through Maikaya Foundation which has been existing for the past 20 years, we have intervene in so many ways and have touched so many lives, through health, education, sports among others,” he explained, adding that the foundation is currently installing street lights in three major markets across the state’s senatorial zones—Lafia, Akwanga, and Karu—to boost business activities and enhance security.

While calling on Nasarawa citizens to sustain peace, unity, and support for Engr. Abdullahi Sule’s government to ensure development thrives, Dr. Maikaya also enjoined Muslims to uphold the exemplary spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, using the festive period as a launchpad for renewed commitment to the state’s progress.
