Eid-el-Fitr: Akwanga LG Chair, Isa Andaha Calls for Unity, Peaceful Coexistence

The Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Akwanga was marked by a vibrant display of unity and community spirit, as residents gathered to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
The Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, joined in the festivities, using the occasion to emphasize the importance of peaceful coexistence among residents.
Speaking to journalists, Hon. Andaha urged Muslims to reflect the lessons of Ramadan in their daily lives.
“Let us use this occasion to strengthen our bonds and work towards a more prosperous Akwanga,” he said.
He further encouraged residents to embrace unity and mutual respect.
“We must live together in harmony, respect one another’s differences, and work collectively for the progress of our community,” he added.
The Chairman also highlighted the local government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and social services, assuring residents of continued commitment to community development.

In a related development, the Chief Imam of Andaha Central Mosque, Mallam Isiaka Zakari, called on Muslims to sustain the values of Ramadan by promoting peace and unity. He made this known while leading the Eid-el-Fitr prayer in Andaha on Friday.
“The essence of Ramadan goes beyond fasting and prayers; it is about cultivating compassion, kindness, and understanding among people,” he stated.
He urged worshippers to act as ambassadors of peace by resolving conflicts and strengthening community bonds.
Also speaking, the JIBWIS Andaha Branch representative, Abubakar Mohammed Jafar, described Eid-el-Fitr as a time for reflection, gratitude, and renewal, noting that communities should take advantage of the season to reconnect and foster unity.
Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant on Government House Utilities, Hon. Mohammad Musa Akwanga, called for love and peaceful coexistence among citizens.
“There is no point creating conflict or living in an environment that is not peaceful. I urge everyone, not just Muslims to maintain law and order so that Nasarawa State remains peaceful,” he said.
As the celebrations concluded, residents expressed gratitude for the opportunity to come together, share traditional meals, and exchange gifts.
The Eid-el-Fitr festivities in Akwanga ultimately reflected the community’s strong commitment to unity, peace, and collective progress.
