The Director General of the De Flower Boy Movement and Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sensitisation to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Excel Onuche, has distributed millions of naira to members of his support base via WhatsApp, in what many beneficiaries describe as a strategic mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 elections.

The cash disbursement, which cut across members in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, was aimed at appreciating loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and strengthening grassroots support for the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In a statement issued by Hon. Nda Aaron, Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Multimedia, said Onuche was commended for the gesture, which brought relief and excitement to numerous beneficiaries, particularly members of the De Flower Boy Movement.

Speaking on the initiative, Onuche said the move was borne out of his desire to complement the efforts of the governor in reaching the people at the grassroots.

“Governor Ododo is doing well, but he cannot reach everyone alone. I find it a duty to support the good work of Kogi’s people-oriented governor,” he stated.

Beneficiaries of the largesse have continued to express gratitude, offering prayers and commendations for Onuche’s generosity and humanitarian disposition.

As at the time of filing this report, several members of the WhatsApp platform were still receiving credit alerts, underscoring the scale of the outreach.
