Excitement filled Mararaba Gurku on Monday as Distinguished Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada officially launched a series of education projects across Karu and Kokona Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.

The projects, worth ₦100 million, are expected to improve learning conditions for students and provide better teaching facilities in several communities within Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

The flag-off ceremony took place at Government Secondary School, Mararaba Gurku in Karu Local Government Area, where political leaders, traditional rulers, party officials and residents gathered to witness the commencement of the projects.

Among the projects flagged off are the reconstruction of a block of five classrooms and a science laboratory at Government Secondary School, Mararaba Gurku, the construction of a three-classroom block with an office in Takalafiya Dansa, and another three-classroom block at LEA Primary School, Bakin Ayini in Kokona Local Government Area.

The projects are being carried out through a partnership between Senator Wadada and the Bank of Industry as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and support community development.

Addressing the gathering, the Nasarawa state Governorship hopeful Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada said the development of education must remain a top priority because it directly affects the future of young people.

“A child cannot learn properly in a poor environment. When we provide classrooms, laboratories and better facilities, we are giving our children a chance to become better leaders tomorrow,” he said.

He noted that the intervention goes beyond constructing buildings, stressing that it is an investment in the future of the people.

“These projects are not just blocks and walls. They represent opportunity, growth and hope for every child who will sit in those classrooms,” Wadada added.

The senator also reassured residents that he would continue to attract more developmental projects to communities across the senatorial district.

“My commitment to the people remains strong. We will continue to pursue projects that touch lives, strengthen education and improve the welfare of our people,” he said.

Speaking at the event, the representative of the Bank of Industry, Dr. Joel Haruna, commended Senator Wadada for partnering with the institution to improve schools within the district as according to him, the projects are expected to be completed within two months.

“We are pleased to be part of this intervention. The people of Mararaba and the benefiting communities should expect quality projects that will improve the educational sector,” he said.

Chairman of the Wadada Campaign Council, Hon. Aliyu Danladi Madaki Ushar, described the senator as a leader who has remained focused on bringing meaningful development to the people.

Also present at the event were the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Nasarawa State, Barrister Isaac Danladi, Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Hon. Barrister Aliyu Madaki, and his counterpart of Keffi LGA, as well as APC chairmen from Karu, Kokona, Keffi, Nasarawa and Toto LGAs, as well as members of the Wadada Campaign Council and several traditional rulers.

The event ended with expressions of appreciation from community leaders and residents, many of whom described the projects as timely interventions that would positively impact students and teachers across the affected communities.
