The Yes Foundation football club has won a trophy of the under 13 Professional Football Association of Nigeria (PFAN) at the final football match competition in Kwali area council, Abuja.
The foundation beats Maracana football club 2-0 during the second half of the match which held at mini stadium in Kwali on Wednesday.
Speaking at the end of the tournament, chairman of the FCT Football Association (FA), Alhaji Abba Murkhtar Mohammed, represented by Mansur Abdullahi, said it was amazing seeing the young boys harnessing their talents at such age.
“And this is what we want to be replicated across the FCT and I must congratulate the team that emerged winner in the competition, ” he said.
Also speaking, the chairman of Super 8 football competition, Mr Daniel Etsu, said the under 13 football competition was organised to keep the youths of the area busy and make the town lively.
He also said the tournament was aimed at fostering peace and unity, adding that the tournament will also divert the attention of the youth from engaging in any form of social vices in the area.
Etsu, congratulated the ‘Yes Foundation football club’ for emerging winner in the tournament, while urging Maracana football club to work hard ahead of next coming tournament.
On his part, the chairman of the organizing committee, Sani Ibrahim Shuaibu, said he was elated that the competition started and ended peaceful without any rancour.
He said he hoped that the next tournament will witness similar trend.
Global Times Nigeria correspondent report that Kwaita United won the second trophy of the Super 8 League Football Competition after defeating Kolo Babes 1-0.
