The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the death of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Net-Work Oil and Gas Limited, Pastor Clifford Efe Osawaru, hailing him as a dogged industrialist and entrepreneur, who worked for the betterment of his people.

In a statement, Obaseki said Osawaru’s passing was a huge loss to the state, especially as he has risen to the top echelon of the oil and gas industry and distinguished himself as a worthy Edo son, who prioritized standards and dignity of labour.

He noted that Osawaru, who hailed from Orhionmwon Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, was committed to ameliorating the needs of his people and complemented efforts of government in bringing succor to the downtrodden in the community.

According to him, “I received with heavy heart the news of the passing of Pastor Clifford Efe Osawaru, a quintessential Edo son who distinguished himself in business and philanthropy.

“We commiserate with the family and pray that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Pastor Osawaru’s Net-Work Oil and Gas Limited, is the first indigenous oil & gas company that complied with 100 percent local content policy in 2009. Pastor Clifford was also a Pastor with Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Sapele Road, Benin City.

Through his Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Clifford Osawaru Foundation, he built a solar-powered 15-bed clinic in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, servicing more than 20 communities with free medication and treatment since 2014.

He is also the promoter of proposed Clifford Osawaru University, close to Benin City.
