Alenka Development Association has made a case for the construction of the Gitata-Panda road to ease the movement of the people to boost socio-economic development of the area.

National President of the Association, Mr. Ojikpa Yakubu Alem, made the assertion shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership as the new leader of the association, held at the Odiong Nyenkpa palace, Panda Development area, Saturday.

Addressing Nyenkpa sons and daughters who converged to witness the inauguration of the National bodies of Yenkpa development association, the National Association of Nyenkpa Women, and the National Association of Nyenkpa Youth, the new president, Mr. Ojikpa Yakubu Alem, apart from appealing to the Government to construct Gitata-Panda road which is linking Panda via Gurku to Mararaba in Karu Local Government area, also called for the filling of the vacant district and village heads in Nyenkpa land as well as the appointment of their sons and daughters into political positions.

Mr. Ojikpa called for unity among the Nyenkpa community by setting aside their interests and pursuing a collective goal, according to him will open a new path of success for the association just as he commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for ensuring that peace is sustained in Nasarawa state and however appealed to the Federal Government to address the precarious security situation in many parts of the country especially now that the electioneering process has commenced.

The member, representing Karu-Gitata at the Nasarawa House of Assembly, David Maiyaki Ashayi, who is the son of the soil, said his success at the state Assembly was gingered by Nyenkpa Development Association, thus, charging the new leadership to work towards projecting the good image of the association and that of the government of APC to enable them to succeed.

On Gitata Panda road which is in the dilapidated condition, Maiyaki assured the community that the government is making effort through constant lobbying by the Nyenkpa stakeholders, stressing that as a lawmaker, he will not relent towards the realization of the road.

Earlier, the Odyong Nyenkpa of Panda development area, Barrister Joel Ainge, urged the new leaders to bring their wealth of wisdom to bear for the unity and progress of Nyenkpa Land

The traditional ruler used the forum and conferred the traditional titles to some illustrious sons and daughters of the Nyenkpa Nation, among whom were his wife, Mrs. Abigael Aninge as Ogboriya Nyenkpa, and the two oldest men in Nyenkpa land who are over a hundred years back the tittles Otete Nyenkpa and Otte Jung as well as the registrar, Nasarawa State University, Keffi Bala Ahmed the second as Sarkin Yaki Nyenkpa among others.
