Sen. Echocho empowers and trains Over 150 Artisans In Kogi East
Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho, representing Kogi East Senatorial district, has commenced another new comprehensive empowerment program with over 150 artisans as sole beneficiaries.
The people from Dekina and Bassa Local Government Areas would be trained on valuable skills with financial support to improve their socioeconomic status and development of the area.
In a statement issued by Mikail Ibrahim, SA Media to Sen Isah Jibrin Echocho, 03/07/2024., explained that the five-day extensive training and empowerment programme which commences on Tuesday, drew participants from Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency.
The beneficiaries will be trained in various fields, including agriculture, fashion design, and hairdressing.
The training and empowerment program, facilitated by Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho), conducted by the Centre for management development, is being anchored by Josidat global nig. Ltd, entitled Training and Empowerment of Artisans in Kogi East.
The artisans empowerment program, initiated by the Senator is aimed at equipping individuals with essential skills and resources to become self-reliant to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
The participants will receive 50k each with training materials after the 5-day training.
Recall that Sen Echocho recently carried out a similar empowerment program, where over 3,000 beneficiaries got N20,000 each, followed by the first phase of the one million Naira graduates entrepreneurship scheme, where 20 beneficiaries got one million Naira each as well.
Speaking at the event, the Senior legislative aide to the Senator, Alhaji Danlami D. Garba, in his remark, reminded the artisans that the empowerment initiative is meant to bring about a turnaround in their economic lives as they journey towards becoming entrepreneurs.
He added that the program is going to equip them with the skills, knowledge, and financial support necessary to succeed.
The legislative aid explained further that the ongoing empowerment program will cut across the entire Kogi East as the next phase is expected to be held in Ankpa and Idah Federal Constituencies respectively.
Alhaji Danlami commended the Senator for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Kogi East’s artisans.
The beneficiaries thanked Senator Echocho for the training opportunity, as they promised that the training and the seed capital would be put to good use.
