As eligible voters in Edo State eagerly await the September 21 governorship poll in the State, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, has again urged the people to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming election.
Addressing Ogoja residents at his Uhonmora-Ora country home where he received decampees from the Labour Party (LP), said, “A vote for Asue Ighodalo, the Edo PDP candidate, will sustain the ongoing development in the State.
“Vote for the party that has the people at heart. Shine your eyes as electorates. We must not allow those who do not mean well for Edo to come to power through the back door.
“As the Speaker, we will continue to attract good things to Uhonmora-Ora and Owan West. Ogoja people are part of the people that decide who wins the election in Uhonmora-Ora and; for us to retain our speakership, let us vote for Asue Ighodalo.
“We need to continue to enjoy and use this speakership status to bring good things to Uhonmora-Ora.
“We will use this opportunity to develop this community. I thank you so much for choosing to be part of this electoral movement.”
The PDP Chairman in the LGA, Engr. David Okoh-Aigbodion, while adding his voice, noted that a vote for Asue Ighodalo is a vote for good governance, as he will protect the people’s interest.
On his part, Peter Enahoro Marshall, described the community, “as a peaceful place that means well for the Ogoja people, noting that, “See here as your home. You are already part of us today and we are now one big family”.
At Civic Centre, Uhonmora-Ora, the Speaker received another set of decampees from the Labour Party, LP. Part of the census of those received was Mr. Oiseomaye Imonikhe James, the LP Campaign Coordinator, Owan West.
Responding, the spokespersons for the decampees Fabian Okom and Ebiale Benjamin, who declared for PDP and Asue Ighodalo, said, “We have heard you. We are glad you value us so much. We are glad we have this opportunity to have an interface with you as the Speaker.
“We have seen light in PDP. Seeing you alone, we know it is a good party and because of you, we will support PDP. Be rest assured that we are strongly behind you and Ighodalo, Mr. Speaker”.
