NURTW partners Airlin on road safety measures in Nasarawa

In its commitment towards achieving the organisation’s cardinal objectives for free and new Nigeria, the Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of law Initiative shares its vision with the National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW).

Leading members of the organisation to the Nasarawa State Secretariat of NURTW in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital, the State Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim L Ibrahim explained that AIRLIN is a non political and religious organisation that is poised to compliment government efforts to improve the living conditions of its citizens.

Alhaji Ibrahim highlighted the fight against social vices among other social ills that have bedevilled the Nigerian as some of the issues the organisation is working towards eradicating.

He said it is in this regard that the NURTW is seen as a formidable institution that plays a crucial roles towards educating its members again reckless driving.

According to the State Coordinator, as part of AIRLIN’s mandate of ensuring sanity in the society, it is collaborating NURTW with a bid to ensure safety of passengers.

Noting the strength of AIRLIN as an organisation that has coordinators across the local government areas of Nasarawa State, Ibrahim L Ibrahim also the need for partnership with the NURTW branches in the state, just as he used the avenue to congratulate the State NURTW Chairman for his victory at the recent elections.

In his remarks, the State Chairman, NURTW , Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Maikwarya appreciated AIRLIN for supporting government and for identifing NURTW as a stakeholder in implementation of the people oriented programme.

Maikwarya who said that the NURTW has been committed to enlightening its members against reckless driving and overloading, noted that with the collaboration with AIRLIN more is going to be achieved.

The State NURTW Chairman assured that his organisation will collaborate with AIRLIN during its awareness campaign that is coming up in no distant time, assuring AIRLIN that there doors are widely opened.

It would be recalled that AIRLIN, Nasarawa State was Inaugurated by its National Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gamawa on Saturday at the NUJ Press Centre, Lafia.
