Tambawal: Harnessing NASS Towards Regional and National Development

The National Assembly leadership in synergy with the management under the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambawal have made greater impact in the area of not only facilitating lawmaking, that will attract more development to Nigeria and trickled down to the six geopolitical zones.
This was done through the introduction of various government machineries that was geared towards given special attention particularly to the areas affected by both natural and artificial phenomenon, like the activities of bandits, kidnappings, herdsmen attacks, Boko Haram , ISWAP among many others.
Through the instrument of the National Assembly, Tambawal in alliance with the leadership of the 10th National Assembly have ensured the passage of people oriented bills that had gone through both the first , second and third readings of the Assembly, before passage and the endorsement of both the Speaker, Senate President and finally the Clerk to the National Assembly CNA, before the President’s assent.
This process was carried out in respect of other bills and motions that attracted urgency and of national importance to the betterment of all facets of our national life and development.
The introduction of some bills which included the North- West Development Commission (NWDC) bill and the South- East Development Commission (SEDC), introduced for passage by both the Deputy Senate President , Suleiman Barau and the Deputy speaker, Benjamin Okezie Kalu passed through all the readings and was assented by Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The two most important bills facilitated by the management of the National Assembly under the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambawal is expected to operate on the same template like the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and a the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The two new regional Commissions is expected to contribute to the development efforts by the federal government along with granting special attention in the areas of humanitarian and Infrastructural development, desiring and ravaged by both natural and artificial occurrences occasioned by the activities of bandits, Boko Haram , ISWAP and terrorism that had destroyed many vital areas and items of the areas.
In the Eastern flank , the negative activities of outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) , among many others and other confrontational activities affecting the progres and development of these areas are been resolved.
With the operation of NDDC, NEDC over the years , hence returning peace and advancement to the two areas , the newly established NWDC, NEDC will not only give special attention to all areas of development in these areas , but intended to bridge the gap of underdevelopment, destruction experienced over the years due to age long crises.
The establishment powered by both the leadership and management of the National Assembly assented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will attract infrastructural , human capital and other desired improvement will be guaranteed going forward.
The positive development and occurrences was made possible in a swoop through the management acumen of the Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA, Sani Magaji Tambawal that had worked round the clock to ensure both bureaucratic and administrative requirements needed to ensure the passage of the bills was strictly and promptly adhered.
The success story of the establishment of NWDC and NEDC came within the period of the management of the current Clerk to the National Assembly CNA, an achievement rare in the history of the National Assembly’s existence 25 years down the line since the return to democracy in 1999.
Aside attracting all round development to the regions and Nigeria at large ,the move is also capable of returning the needed peace , security and above all uneven development across the country.
With the laudable programs, all hands must be on deck to continue to support the current management of the National Assembly under the CNA, Sani Magaji Tambawal as he continues to pilot the affairs of the National Assembly along with the critical stakeholders, the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.
The establishment of the special intervention commission and vehicle by the National Assembly, no doubt will continue to ensure safety and development of both the regions and Nigeria at large.
