Rt Honourable Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims, Deputy House Leader, House of Representatives i s a son of not too prominent person who grew up side by side by his family and in an Islamic home by virtue of his abode.
His late father was a known local cattle seller who indulged and engaged in the sales of Rams, Goats and Sheeps along with mediating with those who also needed to buy cows for occasions.
He never also had opportunity to formal education having left the home with secondary education to join the Nigerian Coal Corporation NCC with regional office at Okaba, Odagbo excavation site and Enugu as its main office.
Halims, popularly known as “Ibrahim Jah” determined to succeed in life joined the services of Nigerian Coal Corporation NCC worked in various departments of the corporation and rose to the top echelon side by side with educational development, before retiring to business and politics on the long run.
He became very successful after leaving the services of Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel and went into business of major and independent marketing in petroleum products with out station at Benue, Enugu, Kogi among many other states.
His combination of both transportation and sales of the products which included over 10 out stations spread across the states was the peak of his business career before joining politics after so many years in the private business.
With versed wealth of experience both from the public and wholly private business, the people of Ankpa prevailed on him for representation in the state House of Assembly were he represented Ankpa 1 in the State Assembly.
His representation attracted a lot of development to the constituency four years down the line, when he opted out to join the subsequent administration as chairman of both boards and quasi government committee set up by Kogi state government, before his election to the House of Representatives in 2019 to represent Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency of kogi state.
As a ranking lawmaker, he led the House of representatives on steel development committee at the first and 9th Assembly and was reelected for a second term in 2023, were he emerged as Deputy House Leader , House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly.
Rt Honourable who clocked 60 on Friday, 16, August , 2024 came with a dint of hard work, dedication and commitment to community service, political adventure , humane disposition and charitable tendencies.
Halims who rose from grass to grace to become a role model against the backdrop of looking up to contemporary, friends , brothers and sisters, became the cynosure of development not only in Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency were he is representing , but a house hold name in kogi and the country at large.
He has attracted multiple development in all areas to the state and federal constituency and contributed to the development of the country.
As you mark 60 years down the line post golden jubilee, we prayed for more years of service to humanity and fatherland, as you sail smoothly to both septuagenarian to octogenarian level in your life sojourn.
