As the political landscape in Edo State intensifies ahead of the upcoming governorship election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) continues to rally massive support across the state’s senatorial districts. From the two Owans to Akoko-Edo, through the three Estako local governments, and now, the campaign has reached Edo Central, where PDP has brought its message of hope and progress.
The campaign started today in Esan Central and Esan West, with electrifying enthusiasm that has become a hallmark of the PDP’s tour across the state. The streets of these local governments are filled with excitement, as the people joyfully welcome the PDP and its governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Barrister Osarodion Ogie. From the bustling markets to the smallest of streets, the people of Edo have made their preference clear—it’s PDP all the way.
Across the senatorial districts, the message of hope, development, and progress has resonated deeply with the electorate. Asue and Ogie are seen not only as the preferred candidates but as the symbols of the next phase of Edo’s journey towards a better future. The enthusiasm among the people is undeniable, with many openly declaring their support for the PDP candidates as the vehicles for continued growth.
In Edo North, the PDP has witnessed a tremendous outpouring of support in the Owans, Akoko-Edo, and Estako areas. People from all walks of life have turned out in large numbers to welcome the campaign, reflecting a genuine belief that Asue Ighodalo and Barrister Osarodion Ogie represent the best hope for their communities. The campaign has seen defectors from the opposition parties, with many joining the PDP in large numbers, convinced that the PDP’s programs and policies hold the promise of a better future.
The reasons behind this mass defection and overwhelming support are not hard to find. Asue Ighodalo’s programs and vision for Edo State have struck a chord with the people. His plans to focus on economic empowerment, infrastructural development, healthcare, and education are viewed as the most comprehensive and forward-thinking policies on offer. Barrister Ogie’s reputation as a calm and competent leader adds weight to the PDP ticket, offering a well-rounded leadership team.
In the streets of Esan Central and Esan West, as the PDP began its tour of Edo Central, the excitement was palpable. People lined the roads, cheering and dancing, embracing the campaign as one that will shape the destiny of Edo for the better. Hope and optimism are written on their faces, with many expressing their belief that a PDP government under Asue Ighodalo would continue the work started by Governor Godwin Obaseki, building on his economic policies and vision for a prosperous state.
As the election draws closer, the atmosphere in Edo State feels lighter, energized by the belief that change is coming. The people’s hopes and dreams seem to be converging around the PDP, with the belief that this is the team that can take Edo to the next level of development. The warmth and enthusiasm displayed during the campaign stops in the North and now in the Central district signal a shift in political tides, with PDP emerging as the clear favorite.
The defections from the opposition parties are another clear indication of where the momentum lies. Many former APC loyalists are now throwing their support behind the PDP, openly declaring that Asue represents hope, progress, and a better future for Edo State. They see no future with the APC’s candidate, and in contrast, they believe that under Asue and Ogie, Edo will thrive.
With only a few days to go before the election, it is clear that the people of Edo have made up their minds. They have embraced the PDP’s message of growth, stability, and development, and are ready to translate their support into votes for Asue Ighodalo and Barrister Osarodion Ogie. The PDP’s campaign has brought with it not just promises but a genuine sense of optimism that brighter days are ahead for Edo State.
