Delta HOSTCOM Affirms Agoyo as Authentic Urhobo Chairman, Dismisses Pender Agwarive’s Claim

The leadership of Delta State Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), under the guidance of Senior Comrade Enujeke Ndidi Sunday (Chairman) and High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan (Secretary), has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Comrade Andrew Agoyo as the legitimate Chairman of Urhobo Ethnic Nationality (HOSTCOM).
This declaration is made in response to the leadership’s depiction of a misleading and unconstitutional attempt by certain individuals to take over the established leadership structure in Urhobo HOSTCOM.
The Delta State HOSTCOM emphasized that Comrade Andrew Agoyo remains the only lawfully elected Chairman, and any purported attempts to remove him are null and void, having violated the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the HOSTCOM Constitution as amended in 2018.

The leadership strongly denounced the actions of a faction, purportedly led by Comrade Pender Agwarive and others, for allegedly violating due process by assuming the roles of complainants, prosecutors, and judges without affording the accused officers their right to a fair hearing. HOSTCOM stressed in a press release that the proper mechanism for conflict resolution, as outlined in Article 5, Subsection 5:4 of its constitution, was not adhered to.
Moreover, the Delta State HOSTCOM leadership expressed apprehension over purported threats issued by some members of the opposing faction, urging the Delta State Commissioner of Police, the DSS, and other security agencies to take proactive measures to maintain law and order.
Reaffirming its loyalty to the Delta State government under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, HOSTCOM emphasized that its primary focus remains the advancement of the M.O.R.E. Agenda and the equitable management of resources for the benefit of oil-bearing communities.
“We assure the public that HOSTCOM remains committed to due process, peace and the collective interests of host communities.”
To recap, they affirmed: “Any move to discredit the authentic leadership of Comrade Andrew Agoyo as the Chairman of Urhobo HOSTCOM will not stand,” the statement concluded.
