Leading the special prayer, Mallam Yunusa Muhammed, the acting Chief Imam of Toto Central Mosque, presided over a three-day Fidau prayer session, emphasizing the importance of praying for departed souls.

He highlighted that obedience to God’s instructions and living righteously are essential for attaining Jannatul Firdaus, the highest level of paradise in Islam.

According to him, Jannatul Fidau is described as a place of eternal bliss and closeness to Allah, reserved for steadfast believers who perform righteous deeds and maintain strong faith, hence to for the believers to put trust in God

The cleric emphasized the inevitability of death, stating that it does not discriminate by age and comes at its appointed time as decreed by God.

Quoting from the Holy Qur’an and based on Islamic teachings, which view death as a natural and predetermined transition from worldly life to the afterlife, as mentioned in the Qur’an: “Every soul shall taste death” (Qur’an 3:185).

The acting Chief Imam of Toto emphasized the importance of returning to God and living righteously to ensure a good ending and entry into paradise.

His teachings reflects the Islamic belief that life is a test and preparation for the eternal afterlife.

The Chief Imam spoke during a three-day Firdaus prayer session at Toto Central Mosque organised for the six family members who died recently in a ghastly motor accident while traveling to Kogi State for a condolence.

The Central Mosque in Toto reached maximum capacity during the three-day Firdaus prayer session, with numerous sympathizers unable to enter the mosque and instead participating from outside.

HRH Alhaji Muhammed Umar Azaki, the Ohinoyi Ogye of Toto Chiefdom, expressed his sincere gratitude during the prayer session for the support and solidarity shown by guests, particularly towards the bereaved family members. The monarch observed that the gesture reflects the strong communal bonds and respect for bereaved families.

Onah praised Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, for his tireless efforts and support during a recent accident.

According to Ohinoyi Ogye, he rallied resources and manpower to get the body of victims to Toto, showcasing his allegiance to humanitarian service and community welfare.

He noted that Bashir Gegu has consistently supported grassroots initiatives, empowering women, youths, and the elderly in Kogi State. His leadership and compassion have earned him widespread recognition and respect within and outside the state.

The Ohinoyi Ogye and first-class monarch of Toto, expressed appreciation on behalf of the Toto community for the benevolent act the area received during the difficult time. He prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon those who have supported his chiefdom.

On their part, Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the Kogi State Commissioner commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, the Kogi State Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Hon. Abubakar Nalaraba, the member house of representatives and two serving assembly members from Toto Local Government Area, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimba and Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Sa’ad, recently visited Toto to offer condolences.

They first registered their presence at Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya’s residence, participated in a prayer session, and then visited other bereaved families to pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased souls

They pray to God to accept their souls into paradise and give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The delegation returned to the residence for a meeting with the Executive Chairman of Toto LG, where they offered condolences and prayers.

A delegation led by Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s campaign organization recently visited Toto to offer condolences to a bereaved family. The team, visited Maikaya and met with the council chairman, Ahmed Baba Yahaya.

Their mission was to express sympathy and support during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Senator Wadada himself is currently in Saudi Arabia for the Ummrah pilgrimage and has not yet returned to the country.

According to the group, Wadada will visit the bereaved family to pay his condolences upon his return.

Delegations from the council of Ulamau, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, women, youth groups were also in attendance

Maikaya and his brother, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya jointly thanked those who come from afar and near, praying God to return them safely
