Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, under President Muhammadu Buhari’s immediate administration, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sanni Ododo, the father of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
She described his death as a significant loss, emphasizing the valuable fatherly counsel he provided not only to the state but also to the country as a whole.
Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sanni Ododo passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the age of 83. His burial rite was attended by thousands of sympathizers, including government officials and traditional leaders.
The former Minister said late Alhaji Sanni Ododo will be remembered as a respected community leader with a peaceful and impactful life, leaving behind legacies of integrity and service to the state and nation
Dr. Ramatu Aliyu, accompanied by her husband, Alhaji Aliyu Tijani, joined Governor Ododo and the people of Kogi State to observe the three-day Fidau prayer in honor of the late Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sanni, held in Okene, Central District of Kogi State, on Thursday.
The former minister highlighted that the Governor, being a human, has undoubtedly inherited many good virtues from his father. She appealed to Kogites at home and abroad to rally behind Governor Ododo in his mission to elevate Kogi State to greater heights of prosperity.
While praying for the peaceful repose of Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sanni’s soul, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu asked that God grant the deceased Paradise and give the bereaved family the strength to endure this immense loss.
