NSUK Trains Wadada’s Media Team on Effective Social Media Management

The office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media to Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has organized a one-day workshop on social media management.
The workshop, which brought together Senator Wadada’s media personnel from all local governments of the state, aimed at equipping them with skills on cautious media dissemination to avoid damaging reputations.
Speaking at the event, the SSA on Media to Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, Mr. Sam Israel, described the workshop as timely and necessary for strengthening the senator’s media team.
“We expect that at the end of this workshop, we will return refreshed and equipped with extra knowledge on the media,” he said.
The Head of Department, Mass Communication, NSUK, Dr. Yakubu Salisu, urged participants to actively engage in the training and learn vital techniques for effective information dissemination, just as he commended the effort of the SSA to Senator Wadada for initiating new ideas into the information disseminationm
Resource persons, at the training were lecturers in the department of mass communication including Dr. Suleiman Garba and Dr. Abdullahi Adamu both delivered lectures on topics such as image branding and personality projection.
According to them, media aids should be authentic and original when disseminating information about their supervisor, focusing on highlighting his positive attributes rather than criticizing him.
This approach enables them to protect and promote their supervisor’s image in a favorable light.
Dr. Garba advised Wadada’s social media aids to conduct thorough audience analysis. This would allow them to identify the most effective communication channels to showcase their superior to the public, tailoring their messaging to resonate with their target audience and ultimately enhancing their supervisor’s public image.
Some participants interviewed, Victor Akawu, the Special Assistant on Social Media to Senator Wadada, and Mohammed Tukur Idris, a member of the group, said the workshop would help the media team better project the senator and effectively handle rejoinders on social media.
“After this training, our team will have more knowledge to amplify our principal and take advantage of the current media landscape,” he noted.
They expressed appreciation to the organizers, especially Sam Israel, for initiating the training and pledged to put the knowledge gained into practice to strengthen their roles in media engagement.
By adopting this strategic approach, Wadada’s media team can build a strong online presence, foster a positive reputation, and effectively communicate their superior vision and achievements to the public.
Effective audience analysis and authentic storytelling can significantly impact how their superior is perceived, allowing them to leverage social media to strengthen their candidate’s image and influence.
