Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency: Let us make informed choices, we deserve better representation
Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency Constituents have been asked to make informed choices that would position the district for gains of democracy as well as effective representation in 2027.
In a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, Sam Fanihi Ojo, spokesperson for “Bring Back The Glory of Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency”, lamented the poor representation the Constituency is presently witnessing.
He urge the people not to be discouraged with Arch Salman’s lackluster performance, assuring that there will certainly be light at the end of the tunnel come 2027.
The group spoke person carpeted the present representative for Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, Arch. Salman Idris, pointing out that his poor performance since assumption of office is not an excuse.
Aside his poor showings amongst committee of wise men in the House of Representatives, the group expressed sadness that their representative is amongst the absentee Lawmaker as is presently listed on the attendance Dashboard of the House of Representative.
” We are worried about the poor representation we now have at the House of Representative. Our Constituency, without mincing words, is rated amongst constituencies with intellectuals who can hold their own anytime any day”.
It is however unfortunate that what we have is below our benchmark. It is unfortunate that for the over two years he has served as representative, we cannot point to any bill or motion he has made that was passed into resolution”.
” Our people are known to be vocal, courageous and can stand their own anytime. While we are not poise for comparison. But between Hon. TJ Yusuf and Sen. Dino Melaye who went through same route, the difference the made when they served will tell you that Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency does not have a representation in this dispensation”.
” It is on record from information available to us and the general public that each Lawmaker in the lower chamber, has collected N1b twice as Constituency allowance. We use this medium to call for accountability and transparency to what led to our share developing wings”.
“We therefore use this medium to ask Arch Salman this salient question. Of what use and quality is his representation to the people of Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency. It is unfortunate that our Lawmaker has loss steam. He is not available to his Constituents. We find it difficult to reach him on phone. Two years after, no visible Constituency office can be seen either in Kabba Bunu or Ijumu LGA”.
” It is so much unfortunate too that our Lawmaker’s deception in road construction he claimed to facilitate are washout soon after hours of Inauguration. This are facts that are verifiable”.
“We are therefore using this opportunity to ask our people to shine their eyes. 2027 is another unusual year for election, with constituents seeking to present their best. Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency should therefore not be an exception in voting out mediocrity, the group reiterated.
