The Kogi State House of Assembly has declared its readiness to screen Hon. (Barr.) Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku as Executive Chairman alongside Permanent Commissioners of the State Civil Service Commission.

Barr. Tanko Musa Osuku is currently the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, he is recognized for his leadership in promoting transparency, merit-based recruitment, and reforms in the civil service.

His tenure has been marked by efforts to enhance staff promotion, training, and digitization of the civil service to improve governance efficiency.

The screening process aims to confirm his appointment along with other permanent commissioners to continue driving progress in the state’s civil service sector.

This follows a letter seeking their screening and possible confirmation and addressed to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf by the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The letter confirms the intention of government to renew their tenure for a second and final term.

In a press release issued by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly on October 22, 2025, states that Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, had in a letter addressed to the Speaker, indicated that a certain recommendation is consistent with Section 198 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
