The Journey to Success: Insights from Ambassador Musa Yakubu, Protocol Liaison Officer to President Tinubu

A One-Day Leadership and Mentorship Discourse was held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, coincided with a birthday anniversary of Ambassador Alhaji Musa Yakubu, Protocol Liaison Officer to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The event, themed “Building Ethical and Visionary Youth Leaders for Tomorrow,” took place at the School of Postgraduate Studies Auditorium, Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Narrating his success story right from childhood, the celebrant Amb. Musa Yakubu shared his personal journey, urging youths to embrace discipline, focus, and hard work as tools for success.

He emphasized the value of humility and loyalty in professional spaces, stating, “Do the work, benefits will come later. Do not outshine your boss; know your boss.”

Reflecting on his background, he added, “I came from an average background, and it pains me to see people suffering.

That is why I give scholarships, and I intend to continue doing so.” He encouraged participants to remain prayerful and strive to be outstanding in whatever fields they pursue.

According to him, the youth must position themselves as responsible contributors to national growth.

Amb. Musa also reaffirmed his continued commitment to offering scholarships and other forms of support to empower young people at various levels.

Assoc. Prof. Umar Shuaibu Abdul, Deputy Dean, Administration, Postgraduate School, NSUK, described Amb. Musa Yakubu as a dogged fighter who has thrived through life’s challenges and commended the state’s youths for their role in sustaining peace.

Hon. Abubakar Mohammed, Senior Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor;
Dr. Nuhu Egya, Chairman, National Alumni Association, Comr. Yusuf Dauda, and several others.

They highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure stability and development. “We should be good people of Nasarawa State and the country at large wherever we find ourselves, and I assure you that success will definitely be ours,” they stated.

They expressed deep appreciation for Amb. Yakubu’s notable contributions, especially his support for youth development. They prayed for strength, long life, and greater impact for the celebrant.

Host of the event, Comr. Yusuf Dauda, explained that the program was organized to inspire the youth by bringing them face-to-face with Amb. Yakubu’s experiences and achievements.

“The purpose of this discourse is for Amb. Musa Yakubu to share his life journey and motivate the youth through his story,” he said.

The event also featured the cutting of Amb. Yakubu’s birthday cake, joined by dignitaries, friends, family members, and well-wishers. Presentation of gifts followed, marking the end of a memorable and impactful celebration.
