Nasarawa APC passes vote of confidence on Speaker, lawmakers
…..Says APC has no anointed candidate for Governor
The Nasarawa State leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has held a crucial meeting with Speaker and Members of the party in the State House of Assembly to discuss emerging issues in the party and the State at large.
The meeting which was held behind closed door took place today Wednesday at the Lafia residence of the Speaker of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau and had in attendance APC Lawmakers and the State Executive members of the party led by the State Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello.
Briefing Newsmen shortly after the meeting, the State APC Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello said the crucial meeting was necessary to examine both administrative and political deployments in the State among other emerging issues.
“We came here as a party to have a common discussion with our members, and to thank them for what they are doing to help the masses, they are worthy representatives, they have been doing one empowerment or the other.
” Secondly, to thank them on behalf of the State Government, they have been supportive to the government of Engr. A A Sule, and the achievements and progress in the state is due to their support and quick passage of budgets, so as a party we have to thank them and urged them to continue to support government as partners in progress” He said.
On Governorship aspirants he said APC as a party is not supporting any aspirants.
“We are not supporting any candidate, we are waiting for the Governor to decide” He added.
On his part, the Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau said the meeting was fruitful.
“I want to appreciate God, and appreciate our party, the essence of their being here with us the 15 members of APC is to strengthen the party, show the synergy between us and our great party, the APC in the State and that relationship will continue.
” They have been watching us, watching what we are doing in the State Assembly and to come and tell us thank you, that they are happy with what we are doing” The Speaker said.
The Speaker also revealed that the party has not commenced campaign yet but consultations as law abiding citizens.
