……Over 500 widows aged women benefited from the lawmaker’s multi-million naira gesture

Barr. Esson Mairiga, the Nasarawa State lawmaker representing Lafia North State Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, partner with a non-governmental organization to empower over 500 less privileged women, widows, and others in Lafia through wrappers and cash gifts.

The charity initiative targeted vulnerable groups including aged women and widows, distributing traditional wrappers alongside cash to boost their livelihoods

The, gesture was to support them for the upcoming Christmas celebration to enable them observe the festival with joy and happiness.

The distribution exercise took place today Saturday at the lawmaker’s residence in Lafia.

It was reported that the initiative was organized by the Salvation Multi-Purpose Unity Forum an NGO in partnership with Barr. Esson Mairiga, the member representing Lafia North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, to support the less privileged in the society.

While presenting the items to the beneficiaries from various electoral wards across Lafia North, Barr. Esson Mairiga explained that as the Legal Adviser to the forum which was founded Nine years ago by some medical health workers, he decided to contribute his quarter towards fulfilling the aims and objectives of the forum in touching lives positively.

Barr. Esson Mairiga who appreciated his constituents for the support accorded him so far acknowledged the rapid growth being witnessed under Governor Abdullahi Sule and enjoined the people of the State to continue to embrace peace and unity to attract more meaningful development.

Also speaking, the Grand Patron of the Salvation Multi-Purpose Unity Forum, who spoke through his wife Mrs. Victoria Appolos Dan-Dandaura, commended the lawmaker Barr. Esson for his efforts in putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged widows and aged women calling on other public figures and spirited individuals to emulate the gesture.

The Chairman of the forum, Mr. Caleb Malibi, stated that for the past Nine years, the group has been reaching out to inmates in custodial centers, orphanage homes, and other less privileged persons in the society.

He added that with their Legal Adviser Barr. Esson Mairiga now serving as a lawmaker, the scope of their support has expanded trimendiously.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Joy Asabe Samuel, Maryamu Sylvester Ladan, Ruth Solomon Akuriki, and Malama Amina, thanked the group and the lawmaker for the assistance and prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon them.
