The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has described the death of Senator Godiya Akwashiki as “one death too many to bear,” lamenting that it has created a huge vacuum difficult to fill.

In a condolence message made available to journalists on Thursday, Balarabe Abdullahi expressed profound shock and heartbreak over the demise of the senator representing Nasarawa North, who served as his Deputy Speaker in the Fifth Assembly between 2015 and 2019.

He described the passage of the lawmaker as a “big blow, painful exit and colossal loss” to the people of Nasarawa State and the nation at largdecisions

The demise of the former Deputy Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and serving Senator representing Nasarawa North is a great loss that has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” the ex-speaker stated.

Balarabe Abdullahi, who former repesented the people of Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly is now Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu in Yobe State, noted that death is inevitable and occurs according to God’s divine plan.

“Death is inevitable and a necessary end to every mortal, which must occur in line with God’s plans. He gives and takes life at His own appointed time. We should all see the death of Godiya Akwashiki as an act of God,” he added.

The former speaker extended condolences to the Akwashiki family, the Eggon Nation, the Nasarawa State Government, people of the state and the Nigerian Senate, praying God to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
