Nasarawa AGILE: Isoga Calls for Principals’ Partnership to Boost Girl-Child Education

AGILE Nasarawa State Coordinator, Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga, has urged secondary school principals in Nasarawa North to ensure effective implementation of the AGILE project in their schools.

She made the call during a meeting with principals at Akwanga North Secondary School on Wednesday.

The meeting, which drew principals, technical assistants, and area inspectorate officers, aimed to discuss strategies for implementing the project in their various schools.

According to Hajiya Aishatu, the AGILE project is designed to improve education quality and outcomes in the state, and it’s crucial that schools take ownership of the initiative.

She emphasized the need for principals to work closely with teachers and project staff to ensure a smooth rollout of the project.

Dr. Ruya Fadason, World Bank Consultant for Nasarawa 1.2 AGILE Project, provided an overview of the school implementation project, said AGILE targets 21 Nigerian states, focusing on promoting education for all children, particularly girls who often drop out due to inadequate facilities and urged principals to work collaboratively and maintain project structures to benefit students.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for supporting the AGILE project and emphasized the importance of reporting infrastructure issues to the education ministry.

Mrs. Vivian Isaac David, representing the Ministry of Education, praised the AGILE team for their efforts and called for continued support to ensure project success.

Principals from various schools, including GSS Akwanga North, GJSS Wamba Central, and GSS Ogbagi Nasarawa Eggon, expressed gratitude for the AGILE intervention and confirmed ongoing projects in their schools, promising to support the initiative.

The meeting provided an opportunity for principals to share concerns and best practices, paving the way for successful implementation.
