PAAU’s 7th Convocation: A Testament to Prof. Tenuche’s Leadership – Gov. Ododo

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has lavished praise on the Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, hailing the remarkable giant strides achieved under her leadership as a shining example of visionary stewardship.

Speaking at the institution’s 7th Combined Convocation Ceremony, Governor Ododo described the Vice-Chancellor’s administration as purposeful, innovative, and deeply committed to academic excellence, noting that the steady progress witnessed across the university serves as a clear testament to strategic leadership, effective management, and a renewed emphasis on delivering quality education.

He highlighted key achievements in areas such as elevated academic standards, robust infrastructural development, enhanced staff welfare, groundbreaking research advancements, and the unwavering stability of the academic calendar, all of which have collectively repositioned PAAU as a premier institution of learning not just in Kogi State but throughout Nigeria.

As part of the convocation festivities, Governor Ododo personally commissioned a suite of newly completed projects, which he described as vital investments in the future of education and institutional growth.

These include newly constructed and rehabilitated academic buildings and expansive lecture halls designed to optimize teaching and learning experiences; modern administrative and faculty office complexes to bolster operational efficiency; and upgraded students’ hostel facilities aimed at elevating accommodation standards and overall campus welfare.

The commissioned infrastructure further encompasses extensive internal road networks and aesthetically pleasing walkways for seamless mobility; advanced water supply and sanitation systems to foster a healthier learning environment; reliable power and energy support facilities to ensure uninterrupted electricity; as well as an array of supporting projects essential for sustaining academic excellence and long-term development.

Governor Ododo commended the Vice-Chancellor and her team for the successful execution of these initiatives, attributing their timely delivery to prudent resource management and purposeful governance.

Reaffirming his administration’s steadfast commitment to tertiary education as the bedrock of sustainable development in Kogi State, Governor Ododo urged the university management to maintain this impressive momentum by deepening innovation, enforcing discipline, and relentlessly pursuing excellence in fulfilling the institution’s mandate.
