Easter Message: Nasarawa Lawmaker Daniel Ogazi Urges Prayers, Public Support to Defeat Insecurity, Weighs Political Future Ahead of 2027
A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Kokona East Constituency, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, has called on Nigerians to intensify prayers and extend unwavering support to government and security agencies in the ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity across the country
Delivering his Easter message in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area, the lawmaker emphasized that security remains a collective responsibility, urging citizens to collaborate actively with authorities to restore peace and stability nationwide.
Hon. Ogazi, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, noted that while government at all levels is making concerted efforts to address security challenges, success can only be achieved through unity and shared commitment.
He cautioned against the tendency to blame leaders alone, stressing that figures such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Abdullahi Sule cannot personally confront criminal elements without the cooperation of the populace.
According to him, citizens must support security personnel, including the military, police, and civil defence corps, through prayers and by providing timely and credible information on suspicious activities.
The lawmaker further encouraged Nigerians to remain vigilant and proactive, calling on communities to promptly report any unusual movements or gatherings to the appropriate authorities for swift intervention.
He reiterated that only through collective action and trust in the system can the nation overcome its current security challenges.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, Hon. Ogazi extended warm felicitations to Christians and urged all Nigerians to embrace the virtues of peace, unity, and compassion.
He highlighted the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ as symbols of hope and triumph over adversity, noting that the season serves as a reminder to overcome societal ills such as poverty, criminality, and division.
He appealed to citizens to imbibe the spirit of love and generosity by supporting the less privileged and fostering harmonious coexistence.
Addressing the political landscape, Hon. Ogazi advised politicians and stakeholders to conduct their activities in strict adherence to constitutional provisions and the Electoral Act, emphasizing the need for issue-based politics devoid of rancour, blackmail, and divisive rhetoric.
He maintained that leadership ultimately derives from the will of the people and should be respected, urging political actors to accept electoral outcomes in good faith for the sake of national unity and development.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to delivering effective and people-oriented representation at the state legislature, while also calling on constituents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration at all levels to achieve its developmental goals.
On speculations surrounding his potential bid for the House of Representatives seat representing Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency in 2027, Hon. Ogazi disclosed that he is still consulting widely with family members, political associates, stakeholders, and supporters.
He assured that a formal decision on his next political move will be made public at the appropriate time.
