Senator Wadada Mourns Death of Campaign Council Chairman, Prof. Silas Gyar

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has expressed profound grief over the death of Professor Silas D. Gyar, Chairman of his Campaign Council and former Rector of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia.

The news of Prof. Gyar’s passing on Tuesday evening came as a rude shock to the senator, who described the late academic as a trusted ally, distinguished scholar, and committed leader whose contributions to society and public service would be greatly missed.

In a condolence message personally signed and circulated to the media, the senator, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District and is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased, the Mada Nation, the people of Kokona Local Government Area, the academic community, and the entire people of Nasarawa State.

The statement read in part:

“It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of the Chairman of my Campaign Council, Prof. Silas D. Gyar, who departed this evening.

“On behalf of myself and the entire Wadada Political Family, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Gyar family, the people of the Mada Nation, the good people of Kokona Local Government Area, and all who are grieving this painful loss.”

Senator Wadada described the late professor as a man of uncommon intellect, integrity, and dedication, whose wise counsel and unwavering support played a significant role in advancing their shared vision for the development of Nasarawa State.

According to him, Prof. Gyar’s steadfast commitment, leadership qualities, and invaluable contributions will remain deeply cherished and never forgotten.

He added that his thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, friends, associates, and all those whose lives were touched by the deceased.

Praying for the repose of his soul, the senator said:

“May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort all those he leaves behind with strength and fortitude. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”

The death of Prof. Gyar has continued to attract tributes from political leaders, academics, and well-wishers across Nasarawa State, who remember him for his outstanding service to education, public administration, and grassroots development.
