Thousands Storm Toto for Grand Reception of APC Candidate Wadada

….Maikaya, Stakeholders Promise 100% Support in 2027

Thousands of critical stakeholders, youths, and women in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Sunday trooped out to welcome Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, during his visit to the area.

Senator Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District and recently emerged as the APC flag bearer in the just-concluded primaries, first paid homage to the paramount ruler of the Egbira nation and Ohimegye Opanda of the Umaisha Administrative Area in Toto LGA, HRH Alhaji Abdullahi Usman.

Despite a heavy downpour, supporters remained undeterred, chanting “Wadada Gwamna” throughout the visit in a show of solidarity and enthusiasm.

Among top stakeholders present at the event were Dr. Musa Muhammed, SSG Magaji Maikaya; Dr. Gwamna Gaza; the State Commissioner for Health; party chieftains; as well as youth and women leaders.

The APC flag bearer and his entourage were received by the Chairman of Toto Local Government Area, Pharmacist Ahmed Yahaya, alongside a mammoth crowd of supporters.

Some residents who spoke during the visit described the emergence of Senator Wadada as the APC governorship candidate as “ordained by God.”

They also commended the decision of prominent aspirants, including Dr. Faisal and Dr. Musa Maikaya, for stepping down in support of the governor’s preferred candidate.

“We have no option but to support the APC, the governor, and Senator Wadada ahead of 2027. We will not disappoint them,” they said.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya declared that Toto was fully prepared to deliver victory for Senator Wadada in the 2027 governorship election.

“Your Excellency, we assure you that we are more determined than ever to deliver 100 per cent support for you,” he said.

Dr. Maikaya explained that the visit was aimed at appreciating the people of Toto for their loyalty and support following the governor’s adoption of Senator Wadada as the preferred candidate, despite the participation of other sons of Toto in the race.

“Toto people respected the governor’s decision, and we will support all Senator Wadada’s programmes when he secures the mandate of the people,” he added.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Toto LGA, Pharmacist Ahmed Yahaya, assured the APC candidate of total support, urging him not to entertain any fears about the area’s commitment.

He said the people of Toto had resolved to support and vote for Senator Wadada as the next governor of Nasarawa State after the tenure of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

“We in Toto remain grateful to Engineer Abdullahi Sule for remembering us in the history of democracy. We believe that when Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu is elected governor, he will do even more for the development of Toto,” he stated.
