The Uyo Senatorial District Media Professionals Forum has elected a new set of officers to steer the affairs of the organisation following the expiration of the tenure of the previous executive.
The election was approved at the Forum’s 35th Enlarged Meeting, according to an official announcement dated August 17, 2026, signed by the Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Trustees/Governing Council, Venerable Richard Peters and Comrade Joseph Okon, respectively.
Mr. Clement Warrie emerged as the new President of the Forum, while Mr. Charles Akpan was elected Vice President for Uyo Federal Constituency and Deputy President.

Other elected officers include Mr. Edet Ikotidem, Vice President, Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency; Mr. Edidiong Ita, Vice President, Etinan Federal Constituency; Hon. Itorobong Umoh, Secretary; and Itoro-Etas Iniobong, Assistant Secretary.
Mr. Ukara Effiong emerged as Treasurer, while Mr. Victor Preacher was elected Financial Secretary. Mr. Ubon Marcus will serve as Spokesperson, with Mr. Victor Ukpong as Director of Contact and Mobilization.
The new executive also includes Saviour Umana as Deputy Director of Internal Mobilization and Comrade Samuel Bassey as Deputy Director of External Relations and Outreach.
In the ICT and new media departments, Mr. Destiny Young was elected Director of ICT, with Mr. Aniekeme John and Iberedem Peter serving as Deputy Directors of ICT, including Graphics Design.
Mr. Richard Okon emerged Director of New Media, while Kingsley Edet was elected Deputy Director of New Media. Anamati Inyang will serve as Director of Content.
The Forum also elected Comrade Henshaw Nyong as Director of Ethics and Professional Standards, Mr. Godwin Edet as Director of Programmes and Iniobong Samuel Iwaudofia as Deputy Director of Programmes.
Others are Mr. Etebong Akpan, Director of Print Media; Comrade Uwem Ekoh, Deputy Director of Print Media; Comrade Courage Mbon, Director of Electronic Media; and Stephen Uwah, Deputy Director of Electronic Media.
In the Visuals Department, Mr. Goodwealth Bassey emerged Director, while Idorenyin Inyang was elected Deputy Director.
Mr. Cavil Uduak Inwang will serve as Director of Research and Analytics, with Mr. Iniobong Ituen as Deputy Director.
The Forum also elected Mr. Linus Effiong as Director of Strategy and Secretariat Support, while Mr. Ephraim Ikpe will serve as Ex Officio.
The Board of Trustees/Governing Council said the election was conducted in accordance with the governing provisions of the Forum and was designed to ensure effective leadership, professional coordination, continuity and responsible administration.
The newly elected officers are expected to assume their responsibilities immediately and operate in accordance with the Forum’s Constitution, policies, decisions and directives of the Board of Trustees/Governing Council.
The Board congratulated the officers and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, discipline and commitment to the collective interests of the organisation.
It also called on members to support the new leadership in advancing the unity, growth and professional standing of the Uyo Senatorial District Media Professionals Forum.
