Comrade Israel Evra, Director General of the Catalyst Movement, has congratulated Hon. Sunday Adaji Jr following his appointment as Acting Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State.
The appointment was communicated in a letter dated September 15, 2026, signed by the Chairman of the PDP in Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. Omede Abdullahi.
The letter indicated that the appointment followed the suspension of the former State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Tijani Umoru Aruwa, over allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities and insubordination.
It further stated that the Dekina LGA Executive Committee approved Adaji’s appointment at its meeting on September 15, subject to ratification by the PDP State Working Committee and the outcome of disciplinary proceedings involving the suspended officer.
As Acting PRO, Adaji is expected to oversee the activities of the publicity office, convene and preside over meetings in the absence of the substantive officer, and support efforts to promote party discipline, unity and mobilisation.
Commenting on the appointment, Evra said Adaji’s experience and commitment to the PDP could contribute to strengthening the party’s communication strategy and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
He called on the new acting publicity officer to prioritise unity, effective communication and reconciliation within the party.
The appointment comes against the backdrop of the Kogi PDP’s preparations for the 2027 general elections and its ongoing efforts to consolidate its organisational structures.
The party conducted elections for its current state executive in 2024, with Tijani Umoru Aruwa emerging as State Publicity Secretary.
