The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has claimed that Nigerians did not miss President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his recent stay in France, describing his return to the country as lacking the public excitement associated with the arrival of a popular leader.

The party made the assertion in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the APM, President Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, after what the party described as a prolonged holiday in France.

The party alleged that despite advance notice of the President’s return by the Presidency, only a limited number of government officials, party members and supporters were present to receive him.

The APM argued that the reception demonstrated what it described as growing dissatisfaction among Nigerians over the administration’s handling of economic hardship, insecurity and other challenges confronting citizens.

The party also referred to videos it said showed some Nigerians booing the President during his arrival in Lagos, with chants of “ole”.

The APM interpreted the development as evidence of public dissatisfaction with the administration, although such footage and its broader significance would require independent verification.

The party further criticised the President’s foreign trips, alleging that public resources had been spent on expensive overseas holidays without corresponding benefits to ordinary Nigerians.

It accused the Tinubu administration of implementing policies that, in its view, have worsened economic hardship and affected livelihoods across the country.

The APM said Nigerians were seeking an alternative political direction ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party promoted its presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, as its proposed alternative, saying his administration would prioritise responsive governance, economic development and national unity.

The APM urged Nigerians to support its “Reset” agenda and vote for a Makinde/Daura ticket in the 2027 presidential election.
