Delta Bureau DG Congratulates Queen Efe Clark-Omeru on Zambia Posting

The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., has congratulated Her Excellency, Ambassador (HRM) Queen Efe Alexandra Clark-Omeru, JP, on her assumption of duty as Nigeria’s High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Zambia.

Oghenesivbe described the new envoy as a “super diplomat” and an esteemed Royal Queen of the ancient Agbon Kingdom in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

In a congratulatory message, the Director-General said the appointment was a source of immense pride to Delta State and the people of Agbon Kingdom, describing it as recognition of Ambassador Clark-Omeru’s years of dedicated service and distinguished career in Nigeria’s foreign service.

Ambassador Clark-Omeru formally commenced her diplomatic assignment after presenting her Letters of Credence to Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema at State House, Lusaka.

The ceremony formally marked the beginning of her tenure as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Zambia.

Oghenesivbe, a full member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), said the appointment further demonstrated the capacity of Deltans to distinguish themselves in national and international service.

He expressed particular delight that an illustrious daughter of Delta State and Royal Queen of Agbon Kingdom had been entrusted with the important diplomatic responsibility.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confidence reposed in Ambassador Clark-Omeru.

“Delta State and the entire Agbon Kingdom are deeply grateful to Mr. President for recognising the wealth of experience, professionalism and patriotic service which Her Excellency brings to this important international assignment,” he said.

Oghenesivbe described Ambassador Clark-Omeru as a consummate career diplomat whose professional journey has covered several diplomatic and public-service assignments, with extensive exposure to bilateral relations, consular affairs, diaspora engagement and international diplomacy.

Before her posting to Zambia, she served as Nigeria’s Consul-General for the Littoral and West Regions of Cameroon.

She also served as Acting High Commissioner at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, and as Head of Nigeria’s Diplomatic Mission in Argentina.

Her career has included assignments within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State House and Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in London.

Oghenesivbe noted that her broad experience across Nigeria’s foreign-service establishment would be valuable in her new assignment.

He particularly highlighted the potential for deeper Nigeria-Zambia cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, aviation, culture and people-to-people relations.

The Director-General also commended the envoy’s early emphasis on economic diplomacy, noting her discussions with President Hichilema on opportunities for stronger economic cooperation and the contributions of Nigerian businesses and professionals in Zambia.

Ambassador Clark-Omeru has also identified improved air connectivity as an important component of stronger bilateral relations and expressed interest in exploring a Bilateral Air Services Agreement.

According to Oghenesivbe, such an agreement could facilitate increased trade, tourism, investment and people-to-people exchanges between Nigeria and Zambia.

He further commended her engagement with the Nigerian community and business interests in Zambia, describing diaspora engagement and support for Nigerian enterprises abroad as important components of contemporary diplomacy.

Beyond her diplomatic career, Oghenesivbe celebrated Ambassador Clark-Omeru’s role as Queen of Agbon Kingdom.

He said her traditional leadership and support for His Imperial Majesty, Mike Omeru, Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, represented an additional platform for community development, cultural promotion, peace and socioeconomic advancement.

“As a Royal Queen of Agbon Kingdom, Her Excellency embodies the dignity, grace, wisdom and sense of responsibility associated with our traditional institutions, assisting our esteemed royal father, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, in all ramifications,” he said.

Oghenesivbe expressed confidence that Ambassador Clark-Omeru would bring her experience, diplomatic tact and professionalism to bear on her new assignment.
