The newly inaugurated seven-man Caretaker Committee of the Angbazo Memorial Secondary School Old Boys Association has pledged to use its one-year tenure to revive the alma mater and reposition the association.
The committee emerged during the association’s General Congress held on Friday at Riseingo Hotel, Wamba Road, Akwanga.
Dalhatu Sule was inaugurated as Chairman of the caretaker committee.
The association said the decision to establish the caretaker committee followed extensive deliberations on the way forward for the organisation and the need to restore the fortunes of the school.
Speaking after his inauguration, Sule said the committee had set out a clear agenda aimed at reviving Angbazo Memorial Secondary School and returning it to full operation.
He said restoring the school would require unity and collective commitment from members of the old boys association.
According to him, the congress was not only about leadership transition but also provided an avenue for members to reconcile, strengthen their relationship and renew the bonds that brought them together as former students of the school.
“We have a clear agenda within our one-year mandate to revive the school and bring it back to full operation,” Sule said.
He appealed to members to support the committee as it begins the process of repositioning both the association and the institution.
Members at the congress expressed optimism that the new leadership would succeed in restoring the lost glory of the school.
They also said a stronger and more united old boys association would be better positioned to contribute meaningfully to the development of the alma mater.
