A New Ajaokuta Is Possible Summit: Convener Calls On Youths To Key Into Technology Advancement.

As part of efforts at contributing to building a strong and better society by identifying daunting challenges, proffer solution through collaboration and partnership, the second edition of A New Ajaokuta Is Possible, an annual Summit, has taken place.

 

The 2021 Summit with the theme: “Building Back Better” which saw participants – majorly youths, drawn from all works of life, took place at Idrinana Hotel Lokoja, Kogi State.

In his address, the Convener of the Summit, Adubazi Goodluck Emmanuel, said the Summit aims creating economic empowerment and opportunities to enable young people discover, express their skills, educate and advocate for the youths through quality service delivery by leaders in authority to meet the emerging needs of youths and others in the society.

He noted that the Summit was to also encourage and foster the spirit of togetherness and instill oneness in the hearts of all participants.

“This year Summit with the theme: Building Back Better; is a strategy aimed at reducing the risk to the people of the nation and Communities in the wake of future disaster and shocks, as experienced in the New Normal World.

This approach integrates disaster risk reduction measures into the restoration of physical infrastructure, social system, shelter and the revitalization of livelihood, economies and the environment”

Emmanuel commended Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for embracing the concept of Building Back Better by completing projects embarked upon by former Governors and for initiating and completing new legacy projects in the State.

The Convener pointed out that there was need for all and sundry, especially leaders at all levels to channel resources and manpower to address issues of infrastructural decay, poor education, unemployment, among other ailing challenges facing the Country.

Emmanuel, who is also a Social Entrepreneur, opined that to give economic hope and opportunities to young Nigerians, the power of entrepreneurship growth through youth empowerment was key to harnessing the potentials of the Nigerian and African youths.

“Capitalizing and supporting small-businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship growth, empowering our young ones, in our own view is the most powerful means to reducing and eradicating civil unrest, unemployment and other issues we are faced with as a nation”

There was paper presentation on Building Back Better by Mr. Joel Ibok as dignitries at the event also took time to address participants.

SSA to the Governor on Electronic Media, Hon. Avoyi Billie Nwogwu, the Managing Director, Kogi State Investment and Properties Ltd., Hajia Aisha Suleiman, representative of the former Ajaokuta LGA Chairman, Hon. Aloysius Okino, among others graced the occasion.

The event featured cash presentation to young entrepreneurs to enable them grow their businesses, among others.
