A professional pressure organization in the fold of the governing All Progressive Congress in Nigeria, APC New Media Group, (ANMG), has berated the purported peace accord and unification meeting embarked by a few members of the All Progressive Congress in Abia state, insisting that there is no rift in the Abia State Chapter of the progressive party as some disgruntled elements want the gullible minds to believe.

This comes on the heels of the gathering of APC leaders and members for a unification meeting held at the residence of a former member of the House of Representatives, Emeka Atuma, at Ntalakwu Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area, on the the the Saturday.

At the parley, party members expressed their resolve to go into the upcoming general election in 2023 as a united front, and collectively work towards the formation of the next government in Abia as APC remained the only alternative and the yearnings of the electorates in the state.

They pledged their loyalty to a splinter factional leadership chaired by Kingsley Ononogbu and factional gubernatorial aspirant, Ikechi Emenike, resolving also to deliver the party in the forthcoming main elections in the state.

However, while dismissing the purported peace accord, the APC New Media Group in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Romanus Seun Adebisi, and the Secretary, Juliana Madujuekwu, issued to journalists in Aba on Sunday, maintained that the parley was far from reality and failed short of expectations of teeming members of the party in Abia state.

The group described the attendees as siren-seeking individuals who have solely chosen to toe the path of illegitimacy and illegalities to curry relevance and other selfish political points, reiterating that the immediate past minister of state for mines and steel development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah is the gubernatorial standard-bearer of the All Progressive Congress, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah (OON), warning against the nefarious and undemocratic attempts by few disgruntled elements to negate democratic principle by fraudulently attempting to buckle divide, and as well, infiltrate all major organs and critical party’s stakeholders into manipulating and replace the winner of the concluded gubernatorial direct primaries held across Abia State.

Uche Ogah had scored 141,952 votes to beat his closest rival, Paul Ikonne who scored 27,054.
Other gubernatorial aspirants include, Chief Ikechi Emenike who polled 9,446, Emeka Atuma with 7,429, Obinna Oriaku with 5,553, Alex Otti scored 2,41, and Daniel Eke who got 1,953 at the keenly contested direct primaries.

This was announced by the Returning Officer of the concluded Abia APC gubernatorial primaries held in Umuahia, the state capital, Barrister Perfect Okorie.

Continuing, the Abia organization observed that the current unprecedented growths, developments, and acceptability garnered by the Abia APC were triggered by the resounding entry of the former minister and his numerous teeming supporters into the progressive party led the party into recording 5.5 percent in the last gubernatorial/presidential elections outing in 2019, maintaining that the evil machinations hatched by the enemies of democracy, to deliberately and unjustly alter the outcome of direct primaries and true wish of the populaces is suicidal, as it would jeopardize the chances and fortunes of the APC to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party and form next government in Abia state in 2023.

The group also observed Abia APC chieftains, Hon Emeka Atumah and Chief Ikechi Emenike, for the unsolicited and stage-managed peace parley whereas, the party remain intact and peaceful like never before, using the party’s inter-conflict resolution mechanisms, admonishing the duo to eschew and repent from their selfish political aggrandizement style of politicking, which have continue and squarely cause and elude the Abia APC, the number one elective political leadership of Abia state in several electoral outings.

The APC New Media Group further condemned vehemently Emeka Atumah’s penchant for sabotaging whatever strides a political party he joins for selfish personal interests, and also demanded a probe and review of the membership status of the former member of the House of Representatives, as he had vowed openly to collaborate with the immediate past Secretary of Sub-committee Committee on Strategy, Contacts, and Mobilization of the concluded 2022 National Convention of the All Progressive Congress, Ikechi Emenike to destroy the party, thereby paving the way and providing a soft landing for the PDP to continue to hold sway in Abia State.

According to the ANMG, “It’s indisputable that the charade and show of shame, called peace accord/unification at Emeka Atumah’s is insignificant going by the already and existing peace in the Abia chapter of the APC. The purported meeting has equally exposed the true enemies, clogs, and saboteurs in Abia APC. The gathering at Ntalakwu Oboro residence of Atumah has also exposed the few disgruntled party members, as stumbling blocks to the electoral success and chances. There are no two ways about it and is reality”.

The APC New Media Group further cautioned on the ongoing move orchestrated by enemies of democracy and the party to subvert the will of genuine members of the APC in Abia state by changing through the backdoor the conclusive victory of Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, the winner of the concluded gubernatorial direct primary election of the party held across the 184 electoral wards of the seventeen local government areas of Abia state, regretted that the unscrupulous party faithful has ceaselessly wasting funds in inducing APC officials at the national headquarters to change the victory of the rightful winner, Dr. Ogah.

The APC Media Professional urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to bow to the evil antics and machinations of the few devious members under whatever pressure from any quarter about altering already certified submissions as all approved due processes were observed during the just concluded gubernatorial direct primary election, urging the APC leadership to extend its disciplinary action on the attendees of the purported peace accord parley, as they have further consolidated on their grand and wicked plots to jeopardize the acceptability and popularity among the majority of Abia electorate, to emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections in 2023, warning the leadership of the APC at all level to save the party from imminent failure and extinction during and after the 2023 elections occasioned by the dishonest activities of party members turned saboteurs.

The organization also called on peace-loving Abia citizens and lovers of democracy within the fold of the APC and beyond to disregard the shenanigans of these strange bedfellows who are determined to mortgage the party’s future soul on the altar of individual selfishness, self-centeredness, and dubiousness, rather than the people of Abia state yearning for the enthronement of effective, responsive, resourceful and visionary leadership in all levels and strata of Abia state for the general good of all.
